“Enriching Society: Addressing the Holistic Impact of Hearing Loss in elders and children”

By addressing hearing loss effectively, we can empower elders and children to live fuller, more connected lives and to realize their potential despite the challenges they may face.

" Unveiling the Voice of Silent Movement to Break the Chains of Hearing Loss and Ignite a Symphony of Knowledge."

Deafness is a crucial disability that can affect human life . Like any other super computer , brain works with the data it receives . These data are received ,decoded, processed and then the body acts or responds accordingly. Data entry is done by our five sense organs, having considered the major part of the job is done by our eyes and our ears. The modality of data received by ears is language which is specifically architected in an abstract form . The mathematical distribution of that form is inherently or subconsciously set in our brains from learning years. This could easily deteriorate if not used
constantly. Even after diagnosis ,people wait an average of 10 years to actually get the hearing aids that will help them hear better. The reasons for patients to do so is their financial insecurity or lack of knowledge about its importance.

Failing to treat a hearing disability can result in auditory deprivation . Over time, the parts of your brain responsible for hearing can shrink from lack of use/ In other wards, brain shrinkage can occur due to loss of hearing. “The longer you wait to seek treatment, the more the brain has trouble understanding and processing information,” says Pulido, who is a fellow with the American Academy of Audiology. That is, you may “hear” the sounds of someone talking, but your brain will struggle to understand the actual words being
used.

Some people may feel like they have cognitive decline when it is really just hearing loss. Even mild hearing loss has been shown to affect understanding and processing, and is linked to a decline in cognition. Moderate to severe hearing loss is linked to dementia. This will increase anxiety, stress and deprive memory. The end will be depression. Hearing is very important for brain function.

Voice of silent was launched with two ambitions. The primary aim is to help and improve the quality of financially deprived elder generation who has been suffering from hearing loss. Achieving this objective can contribute to the world a mentally stronger elder generation and to constantly bring back all the valuable knowledge, experience these elders have, which could be further used by the next generations for many more years. Voice of silent also emphasize that working for the future of the world is important, but every futuristic step will also have a past and present. Elder generation is a very valuable human resource with deep and vast potential and world needs to take steps to prevent them from deteriorating to the very best possible chance.
